The Herald 21/8/15: MORRISTON'S FAMILY RECORD. Another excellent example of patriotism is shown by the family of Mrs Ann Powell, 5 Tyrpenry-street, Morriston. Of her four sons three have joined the colours.... Jack Powell is a sergeant in the 1st Welsh Howitzer Brigade, RFA at Cambridge, Ivor Powell and Morgan Powell are attached to the Royal Naval Division; whilst the grandson [Evan] is a private with the 3rd Welsh.
