Brader's music dealers were to vacate their Wind-street premises, beside the GPO, for the National Bank to enter. The buildings were the highest in Swansea in 1840, and were then known as "Brader's Folly". The founder of the firm, John Brader, came to Swansea from Broadwoods in London in 1830, and was the first resident piano tuner in South Wales, travelling to his clients by horseback. He died in 1889, and was succeeded by John Brader, who died in 1910, and was followed by Jack and Charles Brader. There were piano factories in Wind-street and at West Cross. The Heathfield-street premises of this fine old Swansea family perished in the blitz in 1941.SWEP 8 March 1950 (Newspapers.com)
