Military Service

"A very well known Swansea Volunteer has just died..., Mr George Voysey at the age of 59. For 30 years he was in the 1st Glam Volunteers and for a considerable period before he retired was battery sergeant-major of the ammunition column of the 1st Welsh (Swansea) Howitzer Brigade. In that capacity he was a capable and highly praised WO, and at the Aberystwyth camp in 1906 with Lieut (later Major) TR Harries in command, he had much to do with the winning by the column of the TF Gunnery Championship Cup for the United Kingdom and other highly praised shooting.
