Cambridge Daily News, 29/12/1919: The bridegroom served throughout the war with the 53rd Divisional Artillery (Welsh), who were stationed at Cambridge in 1915, and was decorated in the field with the Military Medal by General Chetwode (of General Allenby's staff)'
South Wales Evening Post, 7/2/1933: Mr John Grant... was a popular member of the old Swansea Howitzers, and during the war was awarded the Military Medal for taking charge of an observation post when his officer was mortally wounded.
