Llais Llafur (26/5/17): Gunner W Lloyd Jones, formerly of Penrhos, who was with the Swansea Howitzers, attached to the RFA is now in hospital at Alexandria suffering from deafness caused by heavy gun firing/ He has seen service in France, Suez and Gaza. Before joining in February 1915, Gunner Jones was a prominent of local male voice parties, and in a letter home he refers to famous chorus, "The Destruction of Gaza" and more especially to the movement commencing with thew words "Then on to Palestine" and he says he never dreamt then that he would take part in the latter day destruction of Gaza, and the march to Palestine.
