20/2/1915: I attach Form MT 393 for David Edlyn Morris.... He is now a Gunner in the Welsh (Howitzer) Brigade, RFA.
LG 9/4/1915: The undermentioned to be temporary Second Lieutenants: Dated 27th March 1915. David Edlyn Morris.
CDL 5/7/1916: News has been received by Mr William Morris, Bryntawe, Morriston, that his son Lieut DE Morris, of the RFA, has been severely wounded on the right side of the face during the recent fighting and is now in hospital at Boulogne. He is one of three brothers serving abroad, and joined a local brigade soon after the outbreak of war.
