1960 - Birmingham Post 15/8/1960. The death occurred on Saturday while playing whist at Llandrindod Wells, where he was living in retirement, of Mr Daniel Harton Davies, a former superintendent in the Old Breconshire Constabulary. He was 66. Mr Davies was with the Breconshire Constabulary for 31 years, retiring when superintendant at at Brynmawr in 1945. He served in the Talgarth district for a number of years.

Dec 1915 - Marriage Cert - Gunner RFA, 1st Welsh Howitzer B. Address - 10 Biscot Rd, Luton which is where the 3rd line were based before they moved to Winchester.
Service nos - 1335 & 840922 - in block of numbers associated with men who transferred from the 3rd Line Welsh Howitzer Brigade to the 4th South Midland (Howitzer) Brigade in April 1916
1917 - The Express 18-Oct. Bombadier Daniel H Davies (Royal Field Artillery) promoted to the rank of Sergeant for gallant conduct and devotion to duty in the field.
1918 - Brec County Times, 2 May. Sergeant Daniel Harton Davies RFA, who before the war was a police constable stationed at Ystradgynlais, is a prisoner of war in Germany. He was recently promoted to the rank of sergeant on the field and highly complimented for devotion to duty.
