KEEN MUSICIAN. Inspector Alfred Diehl, a native of Malvern, Worcester, joined the force in 1912, served in the Army during the war of 1914-18, and was promoted sergeant in 1930 and inspector in 1937.

Mr Diehl is a keen musician, and has taken an active interest in the organsiation of the Swansea Police Band, as well as being its flautist. It is hoped he will retain his membership of the band. For some time he has been on duty in the Sketty district
