In transfers from 3rd Line to 291 Bde 18/7/16 – 931393

The 931xxx block relates to a group of men who transferred from the 3rd Line (No 7 Reserve Brigade) on 24 June 1916. They were initially transferred to D(H))/288 Battery, a new Howitzer battery raised at Winchester for the 57th Division but were quickly redirected to the D(H)/291 of the 58th Division on 18 July 1916.

The 58th (2nd/1st London) Division joined the BEF on the Western Front in January 1917 and fought there through the remainder of the War,

On 24 August 1916, some of the men were swapped with D(H)/336 Battery of the 67th Division and went on to serve in Mesopotamia from October 1917.
